STRANGE MOON is a joyful convergence between Los Angeles-based Strange Interlude (harp and cello) and Seattle-based Kin of the Moon (flute, viola, voice). This program includes World Premieres of new works by Massachusetts composer John Howell Morrison (“Groundhog Night”), East Tennessee composer William Wright (“Find Me in the Dark”), Washington composer Kaley Lane Eaton (“comedy of air”) and Minnesota composer Jessi Harvey (“Lemur Meets Panda”).

All of these works interact with nature and improvisation – meaning they are deeply rooted in our experience of the natural world and incorporate a sense of play that speaks to the ensemble’s goal of not taking themselves too seriously while building new musical worlds in tandem with audiences.
