For Immediate Release – New York, NY – On May 3rd at the Mount Morris Ascension Presbyterian Church, Harlem Jazz Series presents Composers Concordance – ‘The Jazz Influence With Strings.’ The concert features world-class soloists John Clark – horn, Sophie Dunér – voice, Craig Harris – trombone, Lee Odom – saxophone, andSteve Swell – trombone, together with the CompCord String Quartet plus bass and drums, for a program of jazz-inspired contemporary compositions.

Featured compositions include Gene Pritsker’s ‘Quodlibet Sextet,’ Sophie Dunér’s ‘Hey Doctor,’ and John Clark’s ‘My Portion,’ as well as music by Dan Cooper, Craig Harris, Lee Odom, and Steve Swell. CompCord String Quartet: Funda Cizmecioglu and Lynn Bechtold – violins, Orlando Wells- viola, and Mara Navas – cello, are joined by Moppa Elliot – bass and Joe Abba – drums.
