Camila Cortina is a pianist, composer, and music educator. Born in Havana, she has taken the stage in her home country and performed for audiences worldwide. Her music re-imagines the sounds and rhythms of Cuba through the lens of jazz, classical, and world music. In 2018, she won a full tuition scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music and to pursue her Master’s at the Global Jazz Institute under the guidance of Danilo Perez. She also studied jazz composition with Billy Childs and has performed alongside artists like Terri Lyne Carrington.

As an alumna of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, Camila considers herself an advocate for women in jazz and enjoys promoting other female composers’ work in her concerts. She has also received multiple recognitions, including the First Prize in Jojazz Contest (2007), the Duke Ellington Award (2020), and the Matt Marvuglio Award (2022), among others.
