‘A Few Kites’ – Music for Trumpet and Electronics

'Star soloist' (TimeOutNY) trumpeter Andy Kozar will record a CD featuring new music for trumpet and electronics titled 'A Few Kites.'

The purpose of this project is to record an album titled ‘A Few Kites’ featuring new music that I’ve commissioned for trumpet and electronics by composers including Paula Matthusen, Ken Ueno, Scott Worthington, Quinn Collins, Tyler Harrison, Jeffrey Gavett, David Franzson and Maxwell Dulaney. These pieces are some of my favorites from a long term project to develop a new repertoire of extraordinary music for trumpet and electronics that I have been working on for over seven years. A goal of this ongoing project is to fill a gap in the trumpet repertoire with cutting edge new works by some of the contemporary music community’s most talented and forward thinking composers. I have reached a milestone in this project where this new and constantly developing body of repertoire is so compelling that it would be a disservice to both the composers and audiences for these works to not exist in a recorded state. This recording will also feature violinist Leah Asher.
