line upon line percussion
Formed in 2009, line upon line is considered “a riveting, always-surprising and delightful trio” by the Austin American-Statesman. The Austin-based group has premiered over 50 new works for percussion, performed and taught in 22 different states and five foreign countries.

Beginning with a clean slate, the creator must decide what to add… right? On the flip side of this assertion, creation is just as often a process of subtraction and removal. Beauty and elegance can be born of stripping ideas and approaches down to what is truly necessary.
In developing (Re)move, percussion trio line upon line, composers’ collective Austin New Music Co-op, and dancer/choreographer Heloise Gold will explore the extremes of maximalism and minimalism — decluttering our way to enlightenment.
