Ten Portland-area organizations receive one-time grants of $3,000 for general operating costs supporting programming and collaboration with US-based composers and artists

New Music USA is excited to announce the ten awardees of our new Small Grant Fund, which is a new initiative to provide support across different US cities and regions where we have identified opportunities for collaboration with patrons and other funders who are passionate about supporting a music community which is significant to them. The inaugural program is being launched in Portland, Oregon and has provided one-time grants of $3,000 to ten total awardees representing a broad range of organizations and genres across the region that need support to help re-boot their programming of new music and nurturing of music creators following the disruption of the past few years.

Funding may be used for general operating costs which support the organization’s regular programming and collaboration with US-based composers and artists. New Music USA will also work to build connectivity amongst the organizations we support to facilitate shared learning, exchange of ideas, and opportunities. This program has been made possible by a donor who is passionate about Portland’s new music scene, and wishes to remain anonymous.

New Music USA’s Small Grant Fund sits alongside our New Music Capacity Building program which, over the coming years, demonstrates our aim to work locally and regionally to increase and deepen our impact across the many diverse music communities in the US.

Congratulations to these awardees, which includes non-profit organizations, performance groups, presenters, and venues that have shown a deep and consistent impact on their community of artists and music lovers:
