Next Jazz Legacy

Awardee

Lexi Hamner, also known as Lexicocoa, learned to explore different worlds of music in her formative years at her alma mater, The School for Creative and Performing Arts located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since then, she has graduated from Berklee College of Music as a Presidential Scholar with a BA in Songwriting. Now as a 23-year-old, Lexi is currently living in Cincinnati, Ohio, teaching Black American Music to 4th & 5th graders at her new job, in partnership with CPS. Her goal is to continue encouraging people to explore beyond the mundane traditions in music with her sound.

“It is my pleasure to be a part of such a progressive program such as Next Jazz Legacy. I am looking forward to connecting with my musical peers while exploring and expressing new sounds in jazz!” – Lexi
