Favorite musical moment of 2012:
The Civic Orchestra’s performance of Respighi’s Fountains of Rome on the Orchestra Hall stage. Donald Fagen’s new album. Esperanza Spalding’s live performance. The DePaul Wind Ensemble’s performance of Alban Berg’s Chamber Concerto with violin soloist Janet Sung.
Looking forward to in 2013:
Continuing to be involved with an ever-widening range of musical projects, from writing string quartet arrangements for the Pacifica String Quartet and Richard Marx to conducting the International Contemporary Ensemble. And most important, sharing in the personal and musical progress of my excellent students.
