ASCAP Names 37 Recipients of the 2010 Morton Gould Young Composer Awards
ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams has announced the recipients of the 2010 ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards. According to Williams, there were “730 submissions this year and our jury selected 37 composers between the ages of 13 and 29 years of age.” These young concert music composers will be recognized as well as receive cash prizes totaling $45,000 at the annual ASCAP Concert Music Awards at The Times Center in New York City on May 27, 2010.

The awards were established in 1979 and named in honor of composer and former ASCAP President Morton Gould following his death in 1996.
