Vijay Iyer’s “Human Archipelago” (London Philharmonic Orchestra) – World Premiere

Vijay Iyer – described by The New York Times as ‘social conscience, multimedia collaborator, rhapsodist and multicultural gateway’ – could take the stories of Human Archipelago, a book project concerning the entanglement of climate change and forced migration, and transform them into a cello concerto like no other.

This performance is part of New Music USA’s Amplifying Voices program, which fosters collaboration and collective action between US orchestras and composers toward racial and gender equity in classical music.
