Vigorous Tenderness: a fall equinox concert
Celebrate fall with radically inclusive chamber music in harmony with the landscape.
Vigorous Tenderness is an immersive outdoor concert series that amplifies marginalized voices in classical music and democratizes new/experimental music. This fall equinox event resembles an art museum experience, with different chamber music ensembles nestled in the landscape while the audience follows a path of listening and reflection.
All are welcome; this is an inclusive, family-friendly event.
Please bike or carpool; parking will be limited.
Please arrive between 5:30 and 6:15 pm and move through the installation at your own pace.
Advance tickets not required. Sliding scale donations are welcomed: suggested ticket price is $30 but please pay what you can based on need. Free tickets are available. Cash and venmo are accepted; everything goes to the musicians and to sustaining future concerts. venmo: @VigorousTenderness
Rain date: Monday, September 23.
We value inclusion and access for all participants. This concert involves moving over uneven ground, navigating some trails with slight elevation, and visiting musical sites up to three quarters of a mile from the parking lot. For more information about accessibility and conditions, please reach out to vigorous.tenderness@gmail.com.
Vigorous Tenderness presents outdoor concerts four times a year, on the equinoxes and solstices, at different natural areas in southern Maine. Join our mailing list on our website to learn about future concerts.
