The Jamie Baum Quartet at IBeam

Known for her larg(er) ensemble work with her compositional muse of 25 years, The Jamie Baum Septet+, in this configuration she goes smaller and focuses on the improvisation side of things. The Jamie Quartet debut was at NYC’s infamous Mezzrow Jazz Club in the spring of 2023 to an enthusiastic audience, and their chemistry and fire has ignited a ground-swell of enthusiasm wherever they’ve since performed. Having played together over the years in other’s bands and various configurations, the combination of familiarity and surprise keeps the audience engaged. They perform a mix of the band members’ original compositions and uniquely-arranged standards highlighting those by Geri Allen, Carla Bley, McCartney/Lennon, etc.
