The Dreaming of the Bones: A Chamber Opera by Lawrence Kramer

Ireland, 1916.  A rebel on the run meets two strangers on the road.  They offer him refuge, but they want something in return . . .

This is the story told in W. B. Yeats’s classic play “The Dreaming of the Bones,” here transformed into a chamber opera composed by Lawrence Kramer.  The renowned new music ensemble Contemporaneous, conducted by David Bloom, will present a semi-staged production at the Lincoln Center campus of Fordham University.  Lawrence Kramer is a nine-times award-winning composer whose works have been performed throughout the United States and Europe.  He is also a prolific author whose latest book, “Experience: A History,” will be published in October.
