Augustin Hadelich, violin
Augusta Read Thomas – Clara’s Ascent
Sergei Prokofiev – Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 63
Franz Joseph Haydn – Symphony No. 86 in D major, Hob.I:86
Prokofiev’s second Violin Concerto runs the gamut: melancholic melodies, dazzling fingerwork, soaring themes and a rambunctious stomp of a finale with all the bells and whistles. Augustin Hadelich returns to Seattle to perform this masterpiece under the baton of Conductor Emeritus Ludovic Morlot. Anchoring the program is Haydn’s intense Symphony No. 86.
The livestream will take place at 7:30pm Pacific. Broadcasting live from Benaroya Hall, Seattle, WA.
