Monday Music Fundraiser
For more than a decade, brothers Warren and Gregory Van Kirk of Pine Island’s band Strange Arrangement have quietly built one of Southwest Florida’s most inspiring grassroots arts programs: Monday Music. What began as a small free weekly gathering has grown into a vibrant community movement rooted in creativity, connection, healing, and the power of music.
Hosted on Pine Island and open to all ages and skill levels, Monday Music offers a welcoming space where children, families, seniors, beginners, experienced musicians, special-needs participants, and at-risk youth can come together to learn, play, and grow — free of charge. The program was founded on a simple belief: music should be accessible to everyone. The Van Kirk brothers created Monday Music to remove the barriers that often keep people from participating in the arts — whether financial hardship, lack of instruments, learning challenges, limited opportunities, or simply the fear of not being “good enough.” Their mission goes far beyond teaching music. Through encouragement, collaboration, and creativity, they help build confidence, strengthen families, inspire self-expression, and foster a deeper sense of community.
Today, Monday Music is seeking support to help sustain the program and continue serving Pine Island. Donations will help cover general operating expenses and other necessary costs, while also supporting efforts to organize a future community concert that brings people together through music and celebration. Every contribution helps keep Monday Music free, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. Your support helps ensure this special community tradition continues to grow and inspire for years to come.
