Italian Surf Academy & Tredici Bacci at The Sultan Room
Join 41st Parallel Records on Tuesday, February 14th at Brooklyn’s Sultan Room to celebrate the release of Fake Worlds, the third, recently-released, adventure from Italian Surf Academy. The NYC-based surf music trio (guitarist Marco Cappelli, bassist Damon Banks. drummer Dave Miller) will be joined by Simon Hanes’ Tredici Bacci for a Valentine’s Day double bill.
On Fake Worlds Italian Surf Academy dives deeper into the sounds of spaghetti westerns and exotica, surfing around the imaginary universes inspired by such sound magicians as Ennio Morricone, Martin Denny, Link Wray, and more.
41st Parallel Records was founded in 2022 by acclaimed guitarist and composer Marco Cappelli, as both a repository for his own work — new and old — and future recordings from various collaborators and accomplices. 41st Parallel Records will be distributed on all digital platforms, with limited physical releases. The label takes its name from the 41st parallel north, the geographic circle of latitude that connects Naples, Italy with NYC — two global musical capitals that have defined Cappelli’s life and career.
