A program of Latin-American music for guitar and strings that explores the notion of music connecting the land of the living with ancestors who have passed.
The Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine welcomes Boston-based visiting artist, guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan. The concert will feature a program of varied and colorful works for guitar and string trio by Latin-American composers, Manuel Ponce, Nicolas Benavides (premiere), Astor Piazzola and Roland Dyens, as well as works for solo guitar Antonio Celso Ribeiro (premiere), Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Agustín Barrios. Joining Mr. Larget-Caplan will be USM professors Robert Lehmann, violin, Kimberly Lehmann, viola and Rebecca Hartka, cello.
