Composers Concordance Presents M2duO
New York, NY — Composers Concordance proudly launches its 2026–2027 season—its 43rd year of presenting adventurous contemporary music—with an exciting performance by M2duO, featuring violinist Machiko Ozawa and pianist Makia Matsumura. Long recognized as one of New York City’s most adventurous presenters of contemporary music, Composers Concordance begins another year of innovative concerts celebrating living composers and fearless performers.
The concert will feature works by Machiko Ozawa, Makia Matsumura, Astor Piazzolla and Gene Pritsker, showcasing four distinctive compositional voices. The program explores a wide range of musical expression—from lyrical and intimate to rhythmically vibrant and boldly adventurous—demonstrating the versatility and expressive power of the violin and piano duo.
Violinist Machiko Ozawa is one of New York City’s foremost champions of new music, acclaimed for her brilliant technique, expressive depth, and dedication to premiering works by living composers. Pianist Makia Matsumura is celebrated for her refined musicianship, sensitivity, and versatility, bringing equal mastery to contemporary and classical repertoire. Together as M2duO, they create performances that are both intellectually engaging and emotionally compelling.
